Be going to: plans and predictions

Talk about plans you already have and predictions based on what you can see now.

What you will learn

  • Choose am, is or are before going to.
  • Make negative plans and questions.
  • Recognise plans and predictions from present evidence.

Oldindan qilgan rejangizni yoki hozirgi belgiga asoslangan taxminni be going to bilan ayting. Ega bilan am, is yoki are kerak; going to dan keyin asosiy fe’l keladi.

Use am/is/are going to + base verb for an intention or plan decided before speaking: I’m going to study tonight. It also makes a prediction based on present evidence: Look at those clouds. It’s going to rain. Choose be to match the subject. Put not after be for a negative, and move be before the subject for a question. Short answers use be, without going to.
