Have got

Have got biror narsangiz borligini bildiradi. Oila, tashqi ko‘rinish va ayrim sog‘liq holatlari haqida ham ishlatiladi. He, she, it bilan has got, qolgan egalar bilan have got ishlatiladi.

Have got describes possession now: I have got a bike. It can also describe family, appearance or a condition: she has got a brother, brown eyes or a headache. Use has got with he, she and it, and have got with I, you, we and they. Add not after have or has for a negative. Move have or has before the subject for a question. In a short answer, use have or has without got.

A condition and a short answer

Has Dilnoza got a headache? No, she hasn’t.

Dilnozaning boshi og‘riyaptimi? Yo‘q.

Common Mistakes

Avoid: He have got a bike.

Use: He has got a bike.

He takes has, not have.

Avoid: Do you have got a ticket?

Use: Have you got a ticket?

Move have before you; do is not used in the have got pattern.

Avoid: She doesn’t have got a phone.

Use: She hasn’t got a phone.

The negative of has got is hasn’t got. She doesn’t have a phone is a different valid pattern.

Avoid: Yes, I have got.

Use: Yes, I have.

A short answer ends with have or has, not got.
