Comparative adjectives
Compare two people, things or places using forms such as smaller and more expensive.

Ikki odam, narsa yoki joyni solishtirish uchun sifatning qiyosiy darajasini ishlating. Qisqa sifatlarda ko‘pincha -er, uzun sifatlarda more keladi. Ikkinchi narsadan oldin than qo‘yiladi.
A comparative describes a difference between two things. Most one-syllable adjectives add -er: small → smaller. If the adjective ends in e, add r: nice → nicer. In a short vowel + single consonant ending, some short adjectives double the consonant: big → bigger. Two-syllable adjectives ending in consonant + y change y to ier: happy → happier. Most longer adjectives use more: more expensive. Good becomes better and bad becomes worse. Use than before the second thing: My bag is heavier than yours.

Common Mistakes
Avoid: This bag is more cheaper.
Use: This bag is cheaper.
Do not combine more with an -er comparative.
Avoid: My bike is better then yours.
Use: My bike is better than yours.
Than compares; then refers to time or sequence.
Avoid: The town is biger now.
Use: The town is bigger now.
Big doubles g before er.
Avoid: This hotel is expensiver.
Use: This hotel is more expensive.
Use more with expensive, not er.
